Indrawati Djelantik

Indrawati Djelantik, a wife of a Clinical Pathologist from the Karangasem Palace, initially created Nasi Bejeg for her family to enjoy. ‘Bejeg’ means the bruising of ingredients and spices that are then served with rice. An entrepreneur at heart, she began selling her specialty at home and now Nasi Bejeg is one of Denpasar’s most coveted dishes.

Indrawati Djelantik, istri Ahli Patologi Klinik dari Keraton Karangasem, awalnya membuat Nasi Bejeg untuk dinikmati keluarganya. ‘Bejeg’ berarti memar bahan dan rempah-rempah yang kemudian disajikan dengan nasi. Seorang pengusaha di hati, ia mulai menjual spesialisasinya di rumah dan sekarang Nasi Bejeg adalah salah satu hidangan paling didambakan Denpasar.
