Robert Oliver, a chef, restaurateur, author, and TV host from New Zealand, currently serves as the Chef Ambassador for Le Cordon Bleu, a culinary arts and hospitality school in New Zealand. He has authored two popular culinary books: Mea Kai: The Food and Flavours of the South Pacific (which earned the title of Best Cookbook in the World at the Gourmand Awards in Paris) and Mea’ai Samoa. As the Executive Director and Founder of Pacific Island Food Revolution, Robert spearheads a television media-led movement across the South Pacific, urging people to embrace traditional cuisine to combat the region’s non-communicable diseases crisis. The program is broadcast internationally across the Pacific, including in New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the UK, and the US through Parade Media. In recognition of his social contributions to the Pacific community, he was honoured with a KEA World Class New Zealander Award in 2017 and received the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2022.
