Hans Christian

Chef Hans is what you’d call a true chef at heart. His love for cooking started early at home—he would usually observe his mother, an enthusiastic cooker and baker. With Budi Cahyadi from West Nusa Tenggara, they worked together to establish August, a fine-dining restaurant in Jakarta. The restaurant was awarded The One to Watch by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant.

The restaurant serves Indonesian foods from different regions, like octopus with Andaliman spice from North Sumatra, using French cooking techniques. Whilst studying in the United States, Chef Hans worked in the kitchens of top-notch restaurants in New York and Chicago. He also worked as the Chef de Cuisine for the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta’s VIEW. During his stint at VIEW, he led the team to win various awards.

Hans adalah seorang chef sejati. Kecintaannya pada dunia memasak dimulai ketika ia mengamati ibunya, pecinta dunia baking, ketika ia sedang membuat kue. Dengan Budi Cahyadi dari Nusa Tenggara Barat, ia mendirikan August, restoran fine-dining di Jakarta yang tahun ini menyabet pengakuan The One to Watch dari Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant.

Restoran ini menyajikan makanan daerah Indonesia, seperti gurita dengan rempah Andaliman dari Sumatra Utara, dimasak dengan teknik Prancis. Saat belajar di Amerika Serikat, ia bekerja di beberapa dapur restoran ternama di New York dan Chicago. Ia juga pernah menjadi Chef de Cuisine di restoran VIEW milik Fairmont Hotel Jakarta. Saat bekerja di sana, ia memimpin tim VIEW untuk mendapatkan berbagai penghargaan.
