Mei Batubara is an architect-turned-foodie specialising in Indonesian cuisine. She is the Founder and Director of the NUSA Indonesia Gastronomy Foundation and works with local food producers through the Meet the Maker initiative. Mei travels across Indonesia, onducting research on Indonesian food and collaborating with indigenous ethnic groups and artisan communities. She has received numerous awards, including the British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur Award (2010). Under her leadership, NUSA Indonesia Gastronomy has been recognized as the Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Indonesia (2018 and 2019) and for its outstanding use of local ingredients (2019) by the World Food Travel Association.
Mei Batubara adalah seorang arsitek yang banting setir menjadi seorang ahli makanan yang mengkhususkan diri pada sajian khas Indonesia. Ia adalah pendiri dan direktur dari Yayasan NUSA Indonesia Gastronomy, yang bekerja dengan para produsen makanan lokal melalui gerakan Meet the Maker.
