Wayan Sutariawan

Wayan Sutariawan (Suta) is a Balinese chef with a deep passion for authentic Balinese cuisine. Growing up in Klungkung, he was captivated by the aromas, flavors, and rituals of Balinese cooking. Suta’s journey began at a young age when he learned the art of making the key foundation of Balinese food, the base genep. After gaining experience in international cuisines at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives, he returned to Bali and became the Executive Sous Chef, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. Suta takes pride in sharing authentic local food and preserving the traditional dishes of his childhood. His commitment to Balinese cuisine extends beyond the resort as he teaches cooking classes at Sokasi and presents the Sokasi Chef’s Table dinner, featuring rare and ancient recipes. Suta’s culinary expertise is a true gem in the culinary landscape of Bali.

Wayan Sutariawan (Suta) adalah seorang chef Bali yang sangat mencintai makanan Bali otentik. Tumbuh dewasa di Klungkung, ia terpukau oleh aroma, citarasa dan ritual memasak orang Bali. Perjalanan Suta dimulai pada usia belia, saat ia mempelajari seni menyiapkan bahan-bahan dasar makanan Bali, yakni base genep. Setelah menimba pengalaman di bidang hidangan mancanegara di Four Seasons Resorts Maldives, ia kembali ke Bali dan menjadi Executive Sous Chef, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. Kebanggaan Suta muncul saat ia membagikan makanan lokal otentik dan melestarikan hidangan tradisional yang menjadi kenangan masa kecilnya. Komitmennya pada hidangan Bali jauh melampaui kerjanya di resort tersebut; ia juga mengampu kelas memasak di Sokasi dan menyajikan makan malam Chef’s Table di Sokasi, menggunakan resep-resep langka dan kuna. Kepakaran kuliner Suta adalah permata tersembunyi dalam bentangan kuliner Bali.
