Nicolas Montoya

Nicolas Montoya is a professional chef and barista from Colombia who has been working as the cultural attaché for the Colombian Embassy in Indonesia for the past 11 years. During his time in Jakarta, he has organized various coffee events to promote Colombian culture, including coffee cuppings, workshops, and a special event in 2022 featuring Diego Campos, the 2021 World Barista Champion from Colombia. His experience in Indonesia has revealed unexpected similarities between Indonesia and Colombia, particularly their shared passion for excellent coffee. Despite his family’s ownership of coffee plantations in Colombia since his childhood, it wasn’t until he began working as a translator for top-level baristas in the 2011 World Barista Championship in Bogota that he developed a keen interest in coffee post-processing, ultimately leading him to become a coffee expert.

Nicolas Montoya adalah seorang chef dan barista professional dari Kolombia yang telah bekerja sebagai cultural attaché untuk Kedutaan Besar Kolombia di Indonesia selama 11 tahun terakhir. Dalam kiprahnya di Jakarta, ia telah menggelar beberapa acara terkait kopi untuk mempromosikan kebudayaan Kolombia, termasuk coffee cuppings, juga lokakarya membuat kopi. Salah satu acara besar yang ia adakan pada tahun 2022 menampilkan Diego Campos, seorang barista juara dari Kolombia.
