Di Plered, sate maranggi nggak cuma dibakar di atas arang. Ia dibakar pelan-pelan sama waktu dan cara lama yang nggak pernah tergesa. Dagingnya empuk, bumbunya meresap sampai ke serat, manis-gurihnya nempel di lidah kayak kenangan sore di kampung halaman. Lalu di Solo, ada sate buntel.
