Discover the vibrant cultural and culinary heritage of the Banda Islands with Rizal Bahalwan, known as Pak Abba, and Dilla Banda. As the visionary behind Cilu Bintang Estate, a boutique hotel in Banda Neira, Pak Abba is dedicated to preserving the island’s legacy through authentic hospitality and storytelling—especially its famed spices: nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon. Alongside him, Dilla Banda brings the island’s flavors to life. A passionate chef since the age of twenty, Dilla has been serving traditional Banda dishes at both Cilu Bintang Estate and Mutiara Guest House, drawing from recipes passed down through generations—some dating back to the VOC era. Together, they offer a heartfelt glimpse into the rich history, cuisine, and soul of Banda Neira.
