Founded by Inua Ellams, The Rhythm And Poetry / Prose Party is a no-clutter, no-fuss night of live literature and moving music. The format is super simple: 10 writers share a piece of work, and after each, the DJ will play two songs of the writer’s choosing linked to their text.
It’s part reading, part listening party, closer to a relaxed house party than a literary night, where words move through bodies and beats, and the audience becomes part of the rhythm.
The R.A.P. Party has collaborated with over 600 writers, DJs and VJs across the world from England to Nigeria, Brazil to New Zealand. Past editions include the Black History Month, the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill R.A.P. Party and the Three Sisters R.A.P. Party, each remixing classic themes through words and sound.
R.A.P. Beberapa edisi sebelumnya menghadirkan tema seperti Black History Month, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, dan Three Sisters yang dihidupkan kembali melalui perpaduan sastra dan musik.
