Originally from Palembang, South Sumatra, Aaron’s path into cooking began unexpectedly while studying commerce in Melbourne, where a part-time kitchen job quickly became a full-time calling. He cut his teeth in some of Melbourne’s most high-energy venues, including Chin Chin, Operator 25, and Makan Restaurant, where he developed his signature style, shaped by open-flame cooking and the intensity of the wok. Aaron’s cooking is rooted in Asian ingredients, techniques, and flavour; at Fu House, he channels that energy into a menu that reimagines Thai cuisine through a sharper, more daring lens, resulting in dishes that are punchy and unapologetically bold.
