Gilang Tektonik Records is a record store co-founded by Gilang Propagila, connected to the hardcore punk scene. He collaborates with various communities and NGOs, using art as a tool for activism. His work is influenced by punk counter-culture and Bali’s social movements. Gilang founded DIS-PRINT CULTURE, a mobile printing group that promotes art for social and environmental causes. He is also an organizer of the major Bali Tolak Reklamasi movement against harmful tourism development. Gilang views visual art as a way to boost mood and inspire positive social and personal change. His protest posters have been featured in demonstrations defending Bali’s natural environment. He has exhibited in Tokyo, Taipei, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and across Indonesia. Gilang currently hosts two weekly radio shows, Punk As Fuck and Cassette Not Dead, streaming hardcore punk archives and discussing critical community issues.
