Vallian Gunawan is the chef-owner of Kindling, a fine dining restaurant in Jakarta. Chef Vallian began his culinary adventure humbly, starting as a part-time kitchen staff member in a hawker center, and quickly honed his skills in world-class establishments such as L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Saint Pierre, and Odette Restaurant in Singapore, as well as Seasons Restaurant in Hong Kong. He then flew to Bali, where he took the lead as Head Chef at Apéritif Restaurant before opening SKOOL Kitchen, where he served as Executive Chef and later as Venue Operations Manager. Today, Chef Vallian brings his expertise and vision to Kindling, crafting a fine dining experience that marries Asian flavors with French renditions.
