In Wongaya Gede Village in the Tabanan Regency, the forest never truly ends, stretching into riverbanks, weaving through rice fields, and living just behind the home of a local resident, Bapak Alit, where wild food grows freely — from leaves and shoots to roots and blossoms, long embedded in Balinese living knowledge. Together with Forager-Nomadic Cook Made Masak, founder of Mawija, participants are invited into an intimate and reflective foraging experience that reawakens connections between people, food, and nature, while offering insight into sustainable local food systems. The harvest is then prepared together in an open kitchen, where stories, memory, and flavour come together in a shared communal moment. Simple yet profound, this experience invites us to reconnect with the land we stand on.

Di Desa Wongaya Gede, Kabupaten Tabanan, hutan seolah tidak berujung. Hutan ini membentang hingga ke tepi sungai, melewati sawah, dan tumbuh tepat di belakang rumah seorang warga lokal, Bapak Alit. Di sana, berbagai bahan pangan liar tumbuh secara alami, mulai dari daun, pucuk, hingga akar dan bunga, yang sudah lama menjadi bagian dari pengetahuan hidup masyarakat Bali. Bersama Made Masak, seorang peramu sekaligus juru masak nomaden dan pendiri Mawija, peserta akan diajak mengikuti pengalaman mencari bahan pangan langsung di alam. Kegiatan ini mengajak kita untuk kembali memahami hubungan antara manusia, makanan, dan alam, sekaligus mengenal lebih dekat sistem pangan lokal yang berkelanjutan. Hasil yang dikumpulkan kemudian diolah bersama di dapur terbuka. Di ruang ini, cerita, ingatan, dan rasa bertemu dalam suasana kebersamaan yang hangat. Sederhana namun bermakna, pengalaman ini mengajak kita untuk kembali terhubung dengan alam di sekitar kita.
