Amanda Katili Niode

Amanda Katili Niode is the Chair of the Omar Niode Foundation, a non-profit focused on food, culture, and Indonesian culinary heritage. She is also a Harmoni Bumi advocate working on environmental issues, climate change, and sustainability. Amanda is a memoir writer as well as an author and editor of numerous books exploring environmental issues and Indonesia’s rich culinary traditions in relation to identity and food practices. Her work includes both international and national publications, such as At the Table: Food and Family Around the World by Bloomsbury, Contemporary Advances in Food Tourism by Routledge, and Food and Beverage Tourism on Islands by Edward Elgar. Her most recent work as editor, the 500-page bilingual book Tradisi Makan Siang Indonesia: Khazanah Ragam dan Penyajiannya / Lunch Traditions in Indonesia: A Collection of Dishes and Displays, won the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2025 for Best Book in the World. Amanda holds a PhD from the School of Natural Resources & Environment at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

Amanda Katili Niode adalah Ketua Omar Niode Foundation, organisasi nirlaba yang berfokus pada isu pangan, budaya, dan kekayaan kuliner Indonesia. Ia juga merupakan advokat Harmoni Bumi yang aktif dalam isu lingkungan, perubahan iklim, dan keberlanjutan. Amanda adalah penulis memoar, sekaligus penulis dan editor berbagai buku yang membahas isu lingkungan dan kuliner Indonesia, terutama dalam hubungannya dengan identitas dan kebiasaan makan. Karyanya telah dipublikasikan di tingkat nasional maupun internasional, di antaranya At the Table: Food and Family Around the World (Bloomsbury), Contemporary Advances in Food Tourism (Routledge), dan Food and Beverage Tourism on Islands (Edward Elgar).
